The project for the implementation of Windows 2003 Active Directory and Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 at the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) was recently awarded to KalSoft Oman. CBO is the single integrated regulatory body of Oman's financial services industry. CBO has realized the need to embark on a central repository for user related information and implement new authentication services which will enable central enforcement of user and security policies, improve the overall efficiency, and facilitate integration with other institutions using the identity federation.
The project will be executed in collaboration with Bhawan IT, and carried out in two phases. During the first phase deployment of Windows 2003 Active Directory at CBO headquarters and sites will be done. The second phase will be initiated with the deployment of Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 which will enable them to integrate with custom applications using stored identities and local authentication.
Windows 2003 Active Directory is a comprehensive LDAP solution that maps well to the requirements of CBO central authentication source and a comprehensive LDAP directory solution. The deployment will further provide CBO a simple, secure, and robust infrastructure that supports effective communication and collaboration feature with provision of future enhancements. |
