LNH engages KalSoft as its Integration Partner

Liaquat National Hospital (LNH), established in 1953 has grown to be one of the largest hospitals in Pakistan over the time. With the exponential increase in patients, management and the administration are under great pressure at all times to cope with the intensity of work. Each and every function of the LNH is very critical as human lives are dependant on it. The emphasis was on a solution with inherent flexibility - to accommodate new technological advancements, evolving business and end-user requirements, and to ensure the infrastructure would be up to the challenge in the event of a disaster.

After an extensive evaluation process the project was finally awarded to KalSoft. Human Resource Information System Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is KalSoft’s first ever rendezvous with the hospital industry. HRIS provides the ability to input, retain and report inpatient and/or outpatient visits, as well as provides an extensive reporting system for generating Hospital information and statistics. It also allows hospitals to better manage and provide administration to the thousands of patients that enter its doors each day.

HRIS is being built using latest technologies like Microsoft Cluster Service (MCS) with heart beat and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with failover clustering structured on Microsoft Windows Server Systems. Keeping in mind the Picture Archiving System which is required for the archiving of different graphical reports such as X-Rays, and Ultrasounds, KalSoft has made use of SAN (Storage Area Network) for storage and backup which can store Terabytes of data.

HRIS is a state-of-the-art turnkey solution for automating and managing all departments of LNH. The solution integrates all the activities of the hospital to unite the Patient Registration, Medical records, Billing systems, Human Resources and other applications into a single system for the staff, enabling them to manage various elements of the service they provide to their patients through one interface.

HRIS will be a highly robust system designed to have a 24/7 ‘uptime’. The implementation of this solution at the premises will improve the efficiency of all the processes involved, enabling LNH to manage its resources efficiently to cope with the intense requirements of the large number of patients, hospital employees and the time criticality of the hospital work. KalSoft has ensured that a highly scalable solution is provided to LNH which will allow the solution to be integrated with other modules like Waste Management, Picture Archiving System, Transport Management, Laundry and Linen Management and Medical Labs Instruments interfacing.
