KalSoft awarded Infrastructure & Intranet Portal Deployment Project at Salalah Methanol Company Oman
KalSoft, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and leading global Enterprise IT Solutions Provider, has been awarded a project by Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) Oman to deploy an advance Infrastructure and Portal Solution based on Microsoft Technologies. KalSoft’s potential in having delivered successfully similar projects nationally and internationally has led the firm to win yet another project.
Using its past extensive experience and competencies, KalSoft will set up a secure and robust IT environment through Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2007, Forefront security for Exchange Server & Client Desktops, ISA 2006, SCCM 2007 and MOSS 2007. Besides providing SCM with a strong IT infrastructure, this deployment will enable them with a messaging and collaboration solution which will support SMC twenty-four-seven. Moreover, this solution will improve organizational effectiveness, implement business processes, and supply access to information that is essential for organizational goals and processes.
Currently under construction, Salalah Methanol Company LLC (SMC) is a state-of-the art, methanol production facility in Salalah Free Zone, Salalah, Sultanate of Oman. Founded in February 2006, the project is wholly owned by Oman Oil Company. The plant includes captive power generation, water desalination units and a waste water treatment plant to make SMC self-sufficient and environmentally friendly in addition to related utilities, an off-site and export facilities. The capacity of the plant is one million tons per annum of methanol. The feedstock for the production of methanol is dry sweet natural gas supplied by the Ministry of Oil and Gas through the existing pipeline. Construction of the plant is well under way with commercial operations targeted by second quarter of 2010.
