Client Overview
Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited, better known as Mobilink GSM, is a telecommunication service provider in Pakistan. Mobilink has 28.57 million customers by the end of September 2007. Mobilink started operations in 1994 as the first GSM cellular Mobile service in Pakistan. later it was sold to Orascom, an Egypt-based multi-national company. Mobilink's corporate postpaid package is sold under the brand name "Indigo" and prepaid by the name of "Jazz". Mobilink is the largest cellular service provider in Pakistan.

Problems Faced
Mobilink needed to augment its business unit empowerment and server consolidation with delegation for low TCO. Mobilink was also seeking HR solutions via web services. Mobilink wanted improvement in its organizational effectiveness through a unified suite of enterprise-scale applications for enhanced content management and business processes enabling better informed decision making. Mobilink needed to optimize the coordination of information by deploying one integrated platform, instead of relying on separate systems.

Implemented Solution
KalSoft implemented Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 which is an integrated suite of server capabilities to improve organizational effectiveness by providing comprehensive content management and enterprise search, accelerating shared business processes, and facilitating information-sharing across boundaries for better business insight. Office SharePoint Server 2007 supports all intranet, extranet, and Web applications across an enterprise within one integrated platform, instead of relying on separate fragmented systems.

MOSS 2007 is the next generation of Microsoft SharePoint 2003 and Microsoft CMS 2002, built on top of Microsoft WSS V3 and taking advantages of all the core services WSS already offers. It is an extensible collaboration and content management platform with new and extensive features and solutions for enterprise collaboration portal (ECP), enterprise search, forms and business intelligence (BI).
